F13 cam and mild heads installed - car doesnt feel very fast
First off, I am not knocking on Futral or any of the other sponsors parts.
With that said I finally got my cam and heads installed. I was surprised by how smooth it ran on the stock tune. Overall the install went pretty good, but took a long time. I am a little disappointed in how fast the car feels. I was thinking it would roast my Kuhmo street tires in first, but it doesn’t. It really only feels like 30 hp more before the cam/heads. Maybe a tune would help? I have ridden in a couple 380-400 rwhp cars and mine is definitely not as fast.
Before cam mods:
Jet hot LT and ORY
QTEC cutout in I-pipe
Lid
Ported LS6 intake
Mods now (including above):
F13 cam 230/232 112 LSA +4 degrees advance
ASP pulley
28 lb injectors
ported throttle body
mildly ported stock 241 heads (all I did was remove the rocker bolt “hump” and polish the intake/exhaust ports)

Ok look. My best friend and I installed pretty much the same combo on his car. He was saying the SAME THING you are (eventhough I told him to relax, and wait till the tune) Get a good tune and I garuntee that you will be happy. The tune will wake that beast up. You are running on a stock tune, therefore, you are not getting enough fuel delivery to make the power this combo is capable of. My buddy is making near 440 to the wheels after the tune. Get a tune!

I am going to tune it this week. And what I currently have is not a stock tune but a headers/ory tune with the injector charts modified for the 28 lb and the rev limit raised to 6600.
I realize I need a tune to see full potential, but I just expected a night and day difference even without a complete tune (based on a few other guys I know).
Anyway, will let you guys know what it does this weekend with a good tune.
Also, I have some vids of it if somebody would be interested in hosting them.

I think 4.10s would help you out, BIG TIME. Being fast and feeling fast are totally different. Torque off the line that smashes you into your seat makes you feel like it's fast, but if it doesnt hold you there past 100+mph, then the car only feels fast, and really isn't (so to speak).
I had an 89 Trans Am with the L98 and 3.23s. Talk about a torquey engine, but it wouldn't outrun most newer cars because it fell flat in the upper RPMs, but it was a FUN CAR that definitely was quick when it hooked.
My 02 Corvette didn't feel fast cuz it was an A4 with a 2.73, but it would walk most things without interferring too much with my cup of coffee in the morning.
In contrast, my 04 Titan feels MUCH faster and can stomp the 89 Trans Am cuz of the way it's geared. (My sister now owns the T/A and we gave it a little tryout). The Titan has an 12.9:1 effective first gear with 420lbs-ft of torque, and that MOVES even a 5300lbs truck. I test drove a 2wd Titan the same day as the 4wd, and its effective first gear is 10.5:1, so it felt like a slug in comparison off the line in 1st.
Your effective first gear is 9.1:1. A 4.10 will push that upto 10.9:1, which is a very noticeable difference in a lighter car. I like your selection of the F13 112+4, because its torque curve allows for a 3.42 to be run, but if you want it to feel faster, buy the 4.10 gears.
