Blue smoke?
When I hold a gear up like say Im riding along in first at 20-25 mph and I let it just rev itself down, I get smoke coming out my tailpipes. Ive been checking my oil level and it hasnt been dropping. What else could be causing this? I will be getting a new cam/valvetrain next summer in hopes that will relieve that problem. anybody who has had this problem feel free to post

i know on hondas (maybe its different on ls1's), but if your in a gear and let go so the car is in gear and slows down by its self (you will be in deep vaccuum) and it smokes it usually means valve seals. Does the car smoke at idle? what if you let it idle for a while then tap the gas? How many miles on your car and what weight do you run?

I think its a valve stem seal like your talkin about, itll all get replaced when I do a cam swap, ill replace the whole drivetrain, rockers included. that is after the tranny gets rebuilt, and the clutch gets done

I know what it is. I had the same exact thing. What is happening is that the hoses that go to the valve covers are pullin a mist of oil into the throttle body under hard engine decel. If you remove rhte hoses that go to the TB it will stop doin this. You may also have bad seals but i doubt it. I beat the hell outta me car and have the same miles as you nad not a drop of smoke. GL man
Edit: I also just noticed we have the same car. I have a 99 Camaro SS hugger orange with a 6 spd. You got white leather? GL
