New cam for my Z06?
I was thinking about getting a cam for my Z06, any recommendations? You can see my current mods below (not many). Basically I would like to see 400rwhp, but I drive this car everyday so I would like one that is not super aggressive. I did some searching, but couldn't really find much for cam swaps on a basically stock Z06. This is something I just started thinking about and I'm looking for recomendations or anyone who has a similar setup?

The ramps are good indicators of how the springs will last and the power that it will make. Agressive lobes (which will basically slam open/shut) are hard on springs but will give a nice mid-range without sacrificing top-end power. Soft lobes are easier on springs, lose mid-range power, and open close more gently.
What are you other mods or other plans for mods. If you are going to get headers/exhaust/intake etc...the cam choice will change drastically.

anything under 230 duration and with a LSA of 114 - 116 under 600 lift will be fine for you, I know it is very wide and general but as long as you stay within these numbers it should make noticeable more power and not too rough of a idle. Make sure you upgrade the valve springs.

A cam would definetely make your car faster but before you go out and do anything like that i would suggest you consider Headers....Maybe a set of Kooks 1 7/8 with an x pipe. That way when you do decide on the cam....No matter what size....You can take full advantage of it.

So you would get real close to 400rwhp.

I know I prob should do headers first, but if I were to go with the cheaTR cam and do headers later, it wouldn't hurt me I just could have a better cam to match the headers correct?

Thanks for all the info, I've done lots of searching for info on this cam, and I can find where it's been used with stock ls1 heads and with the AFR 205 heads, but I can't find where anyone has tried it with LS6 heads....?

Pick your cam according to your LONG TERM goals so you only have to do it once. If you plan on getting headers in the future, get a cam that is good with headers. You don't want to swap cams twice.
Also, stay away from a baby cam, its simply not worth taking apart a perfectly good motor for small gains. With Full bolt ons you can achieve over 390 HP, some have gotten 400. If 400 is your ultimate goal, bag the cam and go with bolt ons only.
If you want a reverse split cam, I have one for sale MTI X1 $225 Shipped to your door.
But I still recommend bolt ons for 400 HP
