z06 cam?
I have a 2000 z28, i have a guy that can get me a zo6 cam, would this be worth the trouble/money to get it installed to notice a big enough difference? and would it slide right in with any problems?

i think most will tell you if your going to get a cam, get a bigger cam than a z06 cam. That said, there are people making 360+ rwhp on Z06 cams. You will need the z06 springs and pushrods too I believe.

Trust me if you want a cam, get one bigger than the LS6 cam and you will be alot better off and happy. If you want to keep it tame and easy to live with, get somthing that is on a 114 LSA and less than 600 lift. It will make alot more power than the LS6 without compromise the driveability of the car.

yea, i was going to get it for like 75 bucks so i figured it would be better than the stock ls1 cam i have now. whether its worth paying the money to get it installed was my main question. im still thinkin ill go with a 226/226 112 lsa though.

KEEP YOUR $75 BUCKS AND PUT IT TO A BIGGER CAM. the z06 cam will not give you much power, the time spent putting it in is not worth it. if you want something tame go with a 224 cam on a 114 lob or a 224/228 114lob. it will drive and idle close to stock with a tune but give you double the power. i have a 112 lob cam and it still idles nice with small motor shake.you will not be happy with a zo6 cam, remember a zo6 cam is just another stock GM cam,not worth it .goodluck to ya.

When I first bought my car completely stock, I bought a LS6 cam from 21st Century that was just lying around for bottom dollar. I installed it since I was going to do a ported LS6 oil pump anyway on my 98. I just figured it would make more power with the more mods I put on and I would be a step above other bolt-on cars. When I get done with suspension, transmission, exhaust, wheels & tires, then I will get a 232/236 cam that I want and I will feel that I have gotten my monies worth out of that cheap cam and then sell it for even cheaper. I've been happy so far, no regrets.

The LS6 cam works well for the money..
Mods and times in sig, no dyno numbers
Stock rearend, LS6 clutch and DR's
For comparison, my best ET/MPH corrected from my elevation is 11.73 @ 116+
It was worth the $100 I spent on it and it drives dead stock.
