LS1 vs LS6 heads w/ LPE GT2-3 cam
I'm pretty set on using a GT2-3 cam in my SS for a dead silent sleeper (should I decide to even keep this car). I was considering just using my 241 heads and having them fully worked by TEA, etc, etc. I've also thought about forking over more cash for worked 243s, but would I really see any better gains with the 243s over the 241s as the GT2-3 is a baby cam?

i am putting the stock ls6 heads on my gt2-3 cammed ws6.I am gonna open them up just a little bit before they go on.I say go with something that will have the smaller port size 200-215 and it should make a nice combination.try to get some heads with the improved ls6 combustion chambers and higher compression.like stated before call around and see what you can find.

I think LPE uses their GMPP LS6 heads with that cam.
If it was my money and I had to pick a set of heads for the GT2-3 I would be looking at a good set of stage 1 (5.7L) or 1.5 (5.3L) heads from TEA or PRC and I'd run as small of combustion chanber as possible, like 60-62 CC to get some nice compression.
If I were on a tight budget I'd buy a set of stock 243 heads off of ebay.
If I had unlimited funds I would stick a set of 205 AFR's on it. I believe the GT2-3 with some 205 AFR's would make an awsome street machine.
Good luck. Buy the best head your budget will allow.

I feel this is a very good post. I wouldn't run stock LS6 heads ever unless I competed in a stock head class. There are 2 many better options out now.
TEA stage 1, PP stage 2 would both kill a set of stock LS6 heads for about the same cost.
