Question Should I replace my stock oil pump?

Okay car is still apart, was wonderning since I have read a couple of posts on people with 98's blowing up there motors due to oil pump failure. Was hoping I was a lucky one and that won't happen to me. Car has 32,000. Thanx for input.

Okay, I take the new LS2 chain will fit just like my 98chain, and when I go to the dealer do I ask for a 98Chain and pump or for a LS2 chain and pump replacement? Looks like I may never get this car back together. The pump change looks a little tricky. Thanx for the input.

Yeah its the same chain they use on the 6.0 trucks just ask for a 05 gto 6.0 timing chain and a 03 vette oil pump thats what I do so the ywant screw it up!And get a new oil pump oring! Just slide the pump back on enough to get the teeth lined up after the chain has been put on and after its line up teeth wise pull it back off almost all the way till it has some up and down motion and pull the oil pick up tube straight out and slide them together out some light grease on the oring in the pump so it slides in easier and there ya have it! Best way not pench a o-ring!

I bought a ported oil pump from TSP with a new seal and went with the ls2 chain. I had almost 60,000 miles on the car and the stock oil pump o ring seal had a small cut in it.
