Titanium retainers: We buy these right from Trick, which makes all the titanium bellhousings for Top Fuel cars, they also supply all of the companies, like Comp, Crane and several others with their retainers. They to our knowledge are the only US maker of Titanium retainers. Cost is material, and it will get worse I am sure, but nonetheless, beehive springs, bead lock keapers and the crazy factory seal with shim and locator built in are all more expensive than typical Chevy parts. This trend wont change until the demand is so high that parts are more mass produced than they normally are. There are 90 Million conventional chevy motors out there that GM has made, that doesnt count Vortec, LS, and LT series engines. SO you can imagine what the products ratio is for parts for conventional Chevy engines to LS series engines.
The initial design of the new valve weighed in at 97grams, and we are not done with it yet, so it should be pretty close to the stock valve.
Will have more information as its available.

BTW Dart is switching to a 8mm valve setup now so you guys dont have to worry about parts interchangeability. Thats even cooler! From what I have heard the head has been revised two times already by a head department that does Pro Stock work all day. I'm excited to see what they do on a motor!

The Best V8 Stories One Small Block at Time
01 Vette 6 speed LS1 Stock bore and stroke, Forged rods and pistons. Magnacharger at 8 to 10 PSI w. alky. Kooks 1 3/4" LT's w/ hiflow cats, etc.
Motor is coming out this weekend. So pistons and rods haven't been ordered.
Thinking about JE's and Scat rods.
Old hp was 435 rwhp with just Maggie and alky @ 7 PSI (no headers)
A slightly rough idle is desired as long as coupled with more power to around 7k.
BTW What power can a setup like this make? (Looking for well over 500 rwhp and oodles of torque)

Than setup you listed should make plenty of TQ, but you're not going much over 500 rwhp with that Maggie... another reason I say to leave the stock short block.
Use the 225 Darts with this combo, you want the larger heads with your combo and goals.

The flow numbers on the 225 head aren't that much higher under .550 lift. Or are they?
