That's about average price for a rotating assembly. You have the tools to measure clearances to thousandths of an inch when building this engine?

Which vortec heads? There are two versions, the LQ9 and the LQ4. Both are 6.0's.

I have a question, I actually had a thought to sell the 4.3l with the blower I have on it with everything else (the unit is all polished as well) and im looking at around $3000 for it, with that, I can buy two or one turbo units and build a turbo or twin turbo setup, where can I go from there? btw reading the article in the pontiac magazine, the moderater's f-body is sick, and well I wanna be quicker HAH... well quicker than him

EDIT: anyways, what turbos should I look at? I just need the actual turbo unit and I can do a custom plumbing job on it, should I go with two or one?

If the car is going to be bracket raced, you need to consider what bracket you want to run. A good NA 408 build will make a good bracket racer. It's harder to make a consistent FI bracket racer because of heat build up. Build for good NA power and put a 2 stage nitrous kit on it. Even NA, you'll beat most of what is on the street assuming you can launch the truck. You can run a 100 shot dry on top of that once you get going on the street and run both stages at the track when you want to go for single digits.

I really wanna go the FI route, even if it isnt consistent, something to bring to the track to run single digit number and outlaw street comps is great, truthfully, I wanna try to get as close to the single digit's if not in them and run minimal nitrous, what kind of turbo(s) should I look at single or twin? which would be the better route to go? or do you think ati procharger might even be a better route?

N/A is the best place to start, always. Start with at least a 408, badass heads (AFR 225's?), FAST 90/90 NW TB, 1 7/8 stepped headers, etc. obviously with a hell of a lot of supporting suspension mods if you want to make it into the single digits.

you also have to remember, this is a show truck, and well, tell you what, with that new motor, with a turbo, two turbos or a shiny big ati procharger sitting under the hood, it looks mighty fine, and to tell the truth, I love the sounds of forced induction, I am an FI fan, and really dont wanna go the n/a route, im already building my dad's firehawk N/A, so thats the other project, I already have the n/a now its time for the FI, so what turbo's or is an ati charger the way to go?

i think it would be cleaner and easier to do a single turbo kit. but i've heard that it is better to do twins for a mostly street car becuase they don't have to work as hard to acheive a certain boost level. so they last longer. if you're set on doing FI i would definately go the turbo route. if not, then i'd do a healthy n/a set up w/ nitrous for the track. just my opinion. as far as where to get your cam and what cam to go with, i highly suggest you call SPEEDINC. they are one of our sponsors and definately have been around the block w/ superchargers and turbo's. they do relatively small cams with decent boost and great tuning and come out with a package that is very quiet and very driveable, and get insange power numbers. their customer service is great too.

can you suggest a single turbo unit? I need just the actual turbo itself, that way I can build my own piping system for it
