Rod Bolts
Rod Bolts Well I decided I will go ahead and change the rod bolts when I change cams. I just don't want to risk it. Will changing the rod bolts prevent me from spinning a barring? Where do I find the cheapest ARP rod bolts?

I used Katech bolts. They are not the cheapest by far but are the best. I did not want to save 60.00 and end up spending 5000.00 because I did.

No. New rod bolts will not prevent you from spinning a bearing.... Sometimes rod bolts break and cause your motor to go POW! The likelyhood of a rod bolt busting is decreased with stronger replacement rod bolts...
Spun bearings are typically caused by improper engine oiling, a rotating essembly that is badly out of balance or other major issues...
I have not done this with the engine installed in the car but some here have.... do a search.... I assume this is labor intensive....
I would not seek out cheap rod bolts..... If you are replacing these, go with ARP bolts...

Yeah going cheap on rod bolts ALWAYS costs you more coin when time goes on.... cheap engine parts can be good but you need to know what is what.
For example Eagle has a nice H beam rod for the money, sometimes they need a little TLC, but they will never take the place of a Carrillo in a situation where you have to run a Carrillo.

I'm having the work done for me. I am very picky about who works on my car. It's either me or Extreme Performance. I have a friendship with those guys and they have really helped me out with my little problems on my car. They answer the phone anytime I call reguardless of the time of day. They will be installing the cam and rod bolts. They are doing the bolts with the motor still in the car. They will also be tuning my car. I am getting the bolts from them. They run around $100. Hopefully I will have the cam ordered next week. (if I can afford it)
