Default Head studs

getting ready to install my head gaskets and ARP head studs Is there any sealant recommended to put on the before I screw them in the block? Also the rocker arms is there anything that is put on them? I have some kind of locktite that i bought from LPE when I bought the heads! you can see through the bolt holes without the screws in them on the intake side!

the studs should've come with a chromemoly lube. if not, then your supposed to use motor oil. then tighten them hand tight. i dont remember the exact torque specs though..pm Ed Blown Vert, he would know.

LS1s head bolt holes dont go into the water jacket... so you only need to lube the threads for the correct TQ reading.

if your heads have been ported, the rocker bolts may go into the intake ports... if they do, then you should use a thread sealent on the rocker bolts.

denscor, lube the studs with the supplied moly, install using an allen t-handle until they are bottomed lightly into block boss, then BACK OUT 1/2 TURN.

That moly lube gets all over everything. Save it for the torque on the nut. Just put some oil on the bottom threads of the stud, spin it in with a T handle allen wrench, yes there is an allen socket in the end. I have had mine in and out 3 times. Spin them in, hand tight.

Use loctite 545 thread sealer on stock rocker bolts and torque to 22#
