What is a good method of getting TDC when the heads on? Should i look into the spark plug hole on the first piston on the passenger side and spin the crank till the piston cant reach up anymore?

i've got a TDC stop i use, the spark plug fit kind. you can also go by the dot on the cam gear if the timing cover is off; at 6 o'clock pistons 1 and 6 should be @ TDC.

yes the larger valve is the intake; 2.04 on your heads i believe.

Iv got the passenger side head off. Is there a way i can tell if its on TDC from looking at the pistons on that side?

Thank you

Just crank the piston up to top, and paint a mark on your balancer, and one on the front cover, Then you can use that marks (until the balancer gets hot and spins).

Okay i used a pencil to feel the number 1 piston on driver side to come up top. I Looked at the passenger side with no head on and the number 6 piston is on top. Is this correct?

Yeap..
that's 1 & 6, rotate 90, 8 & 5, rotate 90, 7 & 4, rotate 90, 3 & 2. (clockwise)
rotate 90 more and you should be back to 1&6

I misplaced one of my head gaskets for the passenger side. I already installed the drivers side valvetrain using JPRs chart and it work great im gona install the header on that side now. I am wonderig if what i did was okay? Installing one side of the head and valvetrain? I plan on putting it back to TDC and following the stpes again for the other side when i can get my hands on a gasket. Some info would be great. Thanks.

If your using .054" stock sized gaskets, Redline should have them in Pearl City, I believe $25 ea, Fel Pro, Mr Gasket and others on hand normally. Good luck. Your missing a lot of fun while the track is still open.
