Change cam w/o springs question???
I just put a TR224 112 in with comp 918's and it doesn't lope quite like I wanted so I was thinking of just changing the cam to bigger and not springs. Is it possible to change just the cam without doing taking off the valve covers, rockers, pushrods, coil packs etc. off again if I have the JPR lifter tool? can it still holders lifters up etc. with the valve train still on.
And would going from TR224/224 .563/.563 112 up to 228/230 .573/.576 112 be good lope difference?

what are you idling at? drop it to 800 rpm or 750 there should be a lope or you just had a really good tune. i am installing 226/226 112 and hope i don't get a lope ( trying to stay as stealth as possible ) all that matters to me is the go not the show.

Personal choice i guess, but I dont race mine it is mainly for show, so people ask questions and it is entertaining to me to hear what they say.

You NEED to pull the rockers to remove the cam, otherwise the lifters will be pushed down against the lobes and you wont be able to flick them out to insert the JPR tools, not to mention if you tried pulling the cam anyway the lifters would get stuck on the loves and cam journals. Just pull the rockers. Whats it take, and extra half hour?!?

Alright sounds like I need to pull the rockers and pushrods. I also wouldn't mind more power of course too, just my idle is at stock 750 with no tune and it sounds pretty stock.

I mean after hearing how well my car idles UNtuned with a TR224 112 stock idle I am thinking I could go into the 230's with a tune and have a lot more power and way better lope. I am kinda thinking lunati's 230/237 .544/.543 112 cam or the ASA cam 226/236 .525/.525 110 or maybe even Speed Inc.'s S15 231/237 .587/.595 112 but the Speed Inc. one may make a very short life out of 918's. I at least want to get about 25-30K miles out of these springs.
