Getting f13 cam... need some answers.
Ive done research on this board for a while noe and im going to go with an f13 cam. So far im going to get a ls6 ported and polished oil pump, ls2 timming chain, ls6 intake, ported tb, tr55 plugs, and new wires but not sure which ones. Im also getting full exhaust, gmmg, lt's, ory. The one thing i am having some problems with is springs for the cam. I am an every day driver so i most likely have to go duals. Im wondering if these will work http://www.jegs.com/cgi-bin/ncommerc...58&prmenbr=361
Also what length rods should i go with 7.400's? Ive heard i should be fine with the stock rockers with maybe a bearing mod. Also titanium retainers. And after everything is all said and done a tune. Will i be ok with this? my car has 13000 miles on it so i dont think ill need lifters or anything. Im gonna save up some money and ease on launches wen i go to the track every once and a while till i can get a 12 bolt or 9'' with some mt streets or so. How prepared do you think ill be with this list?

you want 7.400 pushrods unless you get milled heads or a cam with a smaller centerline. You would be ok with stock length but you could get some aftermarket pushrods that are 7.400's. That will work with the FM13.
That sounds like you got just about everything you need. Don't worry about the lifters, they can handle it. I have heard some horror stories about the Comp R lifters. You would have to pull the heads off the motor, and it looks to me like you were not planning on doing this.
Double springs would be a good choice for this cam as far as insurance goes.
Comp 921's or Patriot Golds.

Just about any dual springs should be adequate, if you're going to change them every 20,000 miles, like you're supposed to. The lift on that cam is .595/.585, so those .650-lift Crane springs are going to be OK. One thing you might ask about is noise. Some springs have a reputation for turning your LS1 into a sewing machine, but I don't know about the Cranes.

But i have heard that by making your car run as cool as a 160 thermo. your not leating the oil get hot enough to boil away any moisture in it. Isnt this true and depleat the life of your motor?

OK, I have the F13 with the manley spring kit. First, the Manley kit will work fine and its a good spring kit. PRC, Patriot, etc are also good springs. Now, I recommend checking installed height with the manleys because I chose to shim them. You may need to as well.
As for pushrods, if you have stock heads/gaskets/rocker arms I recommend 7.425" pushrods, which is what I am using. 7.400" pushrods will do the job though.
