If your in long island? Your welcome to hook up with me as I'm probably 45 minutes away...in NJ...twenty minutes over the George washington bridge...

I've got what I really consider as a stealth package on a 2001 Z06 with a cam and headers...Stock Cat back Ti package and good tuning from TTP in clifton make this car really stock in its sound and civility...

Here's the package: 2001 ZO6 TTP 224/224 114lsa Cam Pkg 396rwhp 380 rwtq, dual crane valvesprings, Halltech Tunnel Ram, FLP headers, ASP 25% Pully, 3.73 Getrag Rear,2004 Z06 shocks,Shaner S2 TB,Hurst

If I gave you hindsight after 2 years? Its the headers that have given me a Pain in the @ss...The mild steel FLP's broke off the bellhousing bracket and I had them welded up.

If I were you? I'd suggest the ~ $3500 Kooks headers/224/224 .563 114lsa cam. Keep the stock Ti exhaust and you'll be good to go.

The only extra service costs are that every 25000 miles you pay about 300 to have new dual crane valve springs installed...

Otherwise its change the oil and enjoy...

Like I said...if you ever want to get together let me know. Sometimes if you just drive the car you'll be able to make up your mind as to what mods are best for you.

The 224/224 .563 114lsa cam is very close to the 2002 LS6 cam with a a little extra power in it to make the cost of the cam installation worth while...

As far as anyone knowing the car has a cam? No one can tell...Its just got a little extra omph!

Great daily driver.

Feel free to ask any questions you might have and TTP in Clifton NJ was great to deal with.

HTH

JBsC5,
Thanks for the info and the offer. Sounds like you got a nice setup. What rpm does it idle at? Also whats the difference with the 04 Z06 shocks?

The 2001 Z06 is a blast to drive. Its a good handler right out of the box on smooth pavement. Hit a bump in the middle of a turn though and the car hops sideways...

The 2004 Z06 shocks took that sideway hop on midcorner bump out of the equation. I felt it was a worthwhile improvement as I never liked the sideways hop during hard cornering ..(tons of bumps in these roads)

It went away after I installed the 2004 shocks.

This was the big change in the C5 Z06 from 2001/2002/2003 and the 2004 Z06 which was able to lap the Nureburg (sp) ring at 7 minutes 56 seconds.

faster ramps will be a little louder than stock, there is no way around that.

Stealth is relative to overlap, idle speed AND type of exhaust. Believe me, I'm a Stealth fanatic.
You'll have to excuse my ignorance, but what exactly is proper pre-load? And how do you achieve it? Does that have something to do with the cam specs or hows its actually installed?

PS- JBsC5, thanks for all the info it was very helpful. I hope you don't think I was ignoring you.
