I am going to put up another post on this, but do you guys have any information on the 98-01 valve spring shims. I may have to shim my Cranes and it seems the GM original shims would be the ticket. Thickness, ID, OD?

Thanks

Byter...It's my understanding that on LS1/LS6 all-aluminum pushrod engines, is that lifter preload decreases when the engine gets hot...I believe this is one of the reasons that Crane recommends the 8 full 1/4 turns on the Gold Rockers at installation...I know that after I had my cam installed, my motor was totally quiet when the engine was cold, then as it sat there idling and warming up (and growing is size), you could slowly hear the tapping start and eventually it would be very noticeable and annoying, hence the reason I installed the Crane Golds...The engine is very quiet after the switch and I did the full 2 turns, as recommended...

Peace...Gman

Seems to me where I got this information from was a posting here or on LS1.com, that some of the Crane guys had input on...But it made sense to me and certainly went along with my cars mechanical noise cycle...

Peace...Gman
