Yeah, you cant be a "cheap bastard" and go with a big cam without certain supportng mods. I learned the hard way with a 244/248 with 3.42's. and those cams will pull more than you want to spin your bottom end most likely. If you search around, you will find that there are plenty of people cracking into the 11's without a ginormous cam.

Personally I think an X2 would be a good choice for you.

Best bet is to wait for someone to sell on here, $500 for LG cam sounds like it might be out of your price range if you are trying to do some cheap good mods.

Yes there is no clearance issues with the 114 MS v.3. Heck... A 113 will clear with unmodified heads.

AFAIK the MS3 is on a 113 and that's the only way they grind it.

It, of course, easily fits under stock heads.

From what it looks like, the X4 might be a little big for you. I have one and I know the "Actual Specs" on it. It is healthy! The MS3 and X3 are very very close. A cam that big takes some supporting hardware to make it work. If you don't want to restall, regear, and look for a good tuner I'd stay with some in the low 230 duration. That will easily get you in the 11's and will be easier on the bank account.

where does this cam peak on stock heads? i can't really see tuning becoming an issue as many t-rex cars are tuned and provide decent driveability. i am dead set on this cam, after much homework, etc. but it's hell finding a dyno graph of this cam where there isn't something affecting it's true numbers. ie tires rubbing the fender wells or bad o2 sensors, etc. also, this cam will pull to ~7k on stock heads, correct? i've only found 2 dynos on here, both of them showed hp dropping off HARD like 150 rpm after peak...

But after a minute, it will idle almost like stock. It never dies out. It would once in a while at first, but then I changed both O2 sensors and now it never stalls. The tuner himself was suprised how nicely it idles.

With more cold idle tuning it will start and hold the requested RPM. Just needs more adjusting.

I bought an G5x4 for mine before i decided to go stroker, but I havnt installed it yet, talked to matt at LG motorsports and he gave me the specs. It's around 242/246/ 608/612 lift on a 111 LSA. AZ power & sound used it on a stock block w ls6 heads, and dynoed like 440rwhp. It's a bad *** cam and I hear it's pretty streetable. They did 70mph in 1st w stock gears in a 6 spd.
