Yeah i was looking in to getting a cam this winter and was hearing alot of good stuff about this one " G5x4" Anyone know where i can get specs on this cam, where i can buy this cam, Will it work with STOCK HEADS. I don't much care about how it acts on the street, yes i drive it durning summer, but its all good Mpg suck anyways. If there are any other imput on any cam I would like to hear it my mods are in sig. I have Headers and Ls6 intake planned with the cam to come this winter, I think this set up should get me a few high 11"s NA maybe... Well thanks guys

I'm mainly looking for a cam for the 1/4 mile, I love the down low power but i'll probley lose it all with this came, I have a 3500 Tci so i don't see low RPm's at WOt , or pretty much anytime, So i guess the down low TQ doesn't much matter anymore "gotta love Tc " Thanks so far I"m still searching on cams and which one would work with Stock heads, Cuase i won't have the cash for new heads for some time, I just wanna cam the car over winter, Thanks so far guys

The specs for the X3 have not been made public either.
I'll tell you this: My MS3 is a 237/242 .603/.609 on a 113 and the X3 is pretty similer. (based purely on numbers @ .05, the MS3 is bigger, people tend to think the LG cams are bigger than they really are) It can be had on a 112 or a 114. Both LSA's will clear stock, unmilled heads but the 112 cuts it close, you definately don't want to get it installed a tooth off.
The X4 is a little bit bigger.
Many of the cams available today have the power to go 11'a NA cam only. Then again we have NA SI guys going 11's cam only. With a decent cam and a good setup 11's shouldn't be a problem.

I think you need to do a little more reasearch. LG motorsports makes the G5X series of cams, and they have not released the specs on the X3 or X4 cams. If the FM 14 sounds big to you......then the X4 is deffinatly not for you. The X4 is gona want to pull to damn near 7500rpm. If you want to hear what the X4 sounds like go the speed inc website and look at the videos they have of juggarnaut. If this was an M6 that the cam was going in id say do it all day long, but in an A4 your gona have a hell of a time making the thing idle and just plain stay running when you come to a stop. Your gona need something around a 4k stall.

If you want something the size of an X3 or larger you will want a higher stall for that converter.
When I bought my MS3 I had a SSF3500 and it wasn't enough to make full use of the cam. I ended up restalling to 4k. It was $75 plus shipping to and from TCI.
For a moderately sized converter like the 3500 you will proabably want to stay closer to something in the low-mid 230's. FM13, TSP 233/239, G5X2 (232/240 IIRC), TSP torquer, etc.
In terms of idle quality and drivability I would not be scared of a big, nasty cam if you like lope. My car is my daily driver 24/7/365 (unfortunately for it) and I love the MS3. Down the road when it's no longer my only vehicle and I do some more serious modding I might go with an even larger cam.
Edit: My MS3 starts up on first crank every time, whether it's 15* or 105* outside, hot start or cold start. It's all in having a good tune. The idle does fluctate in gear the first few minutes during the winter but it's not a big deal at all. Give it a mile or two and it's nice and smooth. Well, I don't know about smooth. I think a better word is constant.

I have the MS3 in my A4 car with a 4400 and I love it. Starts first time everytime, it takes about 5 seconds to find a steady idle but after that it idles fine at about 875-950. I dont have any trouble with it dying out. It was dying in reverse but I had the tune tweaked a little bit and now its fine.
