Default Head/Cam usage for a shorty header?

Guys like EDC/STRAUB design cams for specific applications and seem to really know there stuff...My idea was a 400RW A4 GTO w/Shorties/HF cats and mufflers but no catback or longtube ever...I was going to run a LSX/90TB too and a good set of heads..

Drivability is very important as is lope
I wanted stock sounding as much as possible with just a hint of lope

Now when deciding on a camshaft to run threw this configuration what should u look for,as in dur./ramps/lift/timing etc?I'm curious as to what the brains of tech would come up with for this setup?

Here's my idea
Comp 214-222 559-566 115+4
Ported 5.3,LS6 or some aftermarket head? (62CC)
.045 Cometic
LSX/90
JBA Shorty (Cleaned up slag)
Magnflow HF Catted pipes
Magnaflow 11365 Mufflers threw stock piping
Magnaflow X-pipe
March pulley
KN CAI
160 STAT

Would these parts compliment each other?
Is the cam right for this setup?
Any thoughts on required head?
LSX/90 needed or is a LS6/PTB good enough?

Brains please come in now
Again drivabilty is the key,no loud, lumpy loping cams...

Shorties proably would not be your best bet. I would go with a long tube. espically if you were shooting for 400rwhp A4

LT's are a no go.
I already tried talking him into that.
I would try something bigger like a 220-224 duration and maybe even a LSK lobe on the intake.
I haven't had the pleasure to hear the LSK lobe yet on a 220ish duration but I would have to guess it isn't that bad based on what the cheater cam sounds like.
Maybe 219/228 632/588 115LSA.
The head debate I am not geting into.....LOL

There are people running setups like that on stock manifolds. You just won't be taking full advantage with anything other than LTs
