Question if im changing lifters what else should i look at and change?

ok so one of my lifters is starting to go.

what else should i look for that could be worn?

any other good performance mods i can do while im in there?

what else besides new lifters am i going to need?

should i go with stock replacements or upgraded lifters?

is it possible for me to tackle this by myself although i have virtually no previous experience tearing into an engine?

thanks
kyle

what else should i look for that could be worn? Not much

any other good performance mods i can do while im in there? Have you replaced the intake? Shave the heads more since they will be out? Use the LS6 valley cover...

what else besides new lifters am i going to need? Head gaskets, bolts, fluids. Have to remove the heads to get to the lifters.

should i go with stock replacements or upgraded lifters? Upgraded imho, Morel

is it possible for me to tackle this by myself although i have virtually no previous experience tearing into an engine? Yes, I found it easy to remove the heads. But I have no clue on your skills.

Check out this site for some help:

If you had the cash, I'd order some AFR heads and put them on, and sell your old one's on ebay for about $800. I'd get a better lifter than stock, I know Mike at Rapid used Morel lifters in my new motor as well.
