The spring base is larger on the AFR's but the 921's fit in the base that comes on the AFR's, if you buy a 921 kit you can use everthing but the base that comes with the kit,
AFR's have a larger i.d. than stock, the thickness is the same both ways on the base, its .040 so setting pressures up is easy.

Do NOT use the 921's with aftermarket heavy rocker gear....they work well with stock rockers but are not as effective with aftermarket pieces. Go with our 8019 spring upgrade which has slightly more seat pressure than the 921's and a higher spring rate for better "over the nose" valve control. They are the spring of choice for any aftermarket rocker set-up.
Just to re-iterate, the 921's have been flawless with the lighter weight stock rocker arms, not to mention have a track record second to none, but I don't recommend their use with anything else.
Hope this helps....
Tony
PS....Our 8019 springs are custom made for us with the same proven material our standard spings are made with, but have more seat and open pressure to better cope with higher lifts and more aggressive camshafts and RPM.

More 8019 Spring info...
Personally, I think a stock lifter is a decent "gamble" for lack of a better word assuming a tight budget etc., but lets face it, an aftermarket higher quality lifter wouldn't be a bad move. Keep in mind guys that this spring is for more aggressive applications and if your looking to make big power and retain a reasonable amount of reliability that usually entails spending money for the better parts.....no news flash there.
Our 8019 spring is not for the faint of heart....it sets up at 1.810" with 155 lbs. on the seat, has a rate of 428 lbs/inch which will yield an open pressure of 412 lbs. @ .600 lift. We rate this spring to .650 lift BTW and is a much better choice for a guy running right at, or slightly under .600 if he plans on turning the wick up on his combination.
Tony M.
PS....BTW, AFR's upgrade price on this spring is around $100. Far more cost effective than the 921's....(and you guys say we always charge too much! )

Tony I have no problems running a better lifter, for example the comp R's. My problem is how to properly set them up? From all my searching it seems awhile back that everyone was having issues with low dynoing #'s due to these lifters not being set up properly? Can they be used with the factory rockers or does an upgrade to the rocker become necessary here too? And lastly how do you set them up?

Tony,
I see some guys having good success with your standard springs, smaller cams and 1.8 rockers. Do you have the installed height, seat pressure and spring rate that you use for these? My interest is in idle to 6,200 and no higher so I don't want to use more spring pressure than necessary.

They have 135 lbs on the seat and around 350 lbs. open at .580 lift.

Tony,
I have Enduratech springs on my AFR's with these specs now:
OD ID VC Load VO Load Lift Coil Bind
1.255 0.827 138# @ 1.750 371# @ 1.150 0.6 1.09
I'm thinking of going to the 8019. I have Morel lifters. Any issues with the two?
Cam is a 227/231 571/575 custom Ed Curtis cam. Put out 432hp 405tq.
We saw a little valve float after 6600rpm which is why I was considering these springs.
