Man, you're jumping from one spectrum to the other.
The main question you have to ask is "What do I want to do with the car?
Street
Street/Strip (20>30 passes / year)
Strip only

But before cam/heads, just do all the bolt ons.
If nasty lope is what you want, you do not need a huge cam to do that, that is relative to the overlap.
You can have a 224 106 ICL idle like a dragster with open exhaust without all the nasty driveability issues of a huge cam.
Sticking a cam with lifts at/over .600 with stock lifters (especialy high miles ones) is (sorry for bluntness) stupid.
You want a big cam, build a motor to handle it.
You have a stocker bottom and heads, then forget the hype of mainstream and pay attention to details. (degreing, CR, quench, valvetrain mass and geometry).
Then you are modding your motor in an intelligent way, that will ensure a long lasting enjoyable combo.

Anyways this might fall on deaf ears since most enthusiasts just want to stick a cam in there and "make mundo power"

Blue and red are far lean if the A/F curves are correct.

well thanks guys for all your help and the frustration i may have caused.....i think im going to go with a futural f4 it is a 226 226 with a 575 575 lift.....which is close to the tr224 but with a lil more hp which is what im looking for hence why i went with the f13 to step up because a lot of people have it and its reliable to turn numbers....does every one agree a fms-f4 will be a good inbetween? but my next ? is should i go with dual springs or 918's

Hey brother you seem like your in the same boat as me

Me however, I like the big lope and power. I am going to be going with the f14 on a 112+4. Anways should peak around 6400 6500 and put out 390-400 as is very consistent with this cam. I've also heard of the here and there people who get 315-325 with stock ls1 and stock pulleys.

It's a pretty big cam but almost identical to the f13. The f14 is a step up but also more badass, and will still be street friendly

I think you should just go with the F13. Its going to drive VERY well providing its tuned correctly, and it will make some great usuable power. Won't need to shift over 6600 if you don't want to if you get a 112+2. I think by going with the smaller cam you'll be somewhat disappointed. FMS cams drive suprisingly well with regards to their sizes, even better when tuned well.

everyone who has one swears it's true. I think F11 or F13 is the biggest i would ever go for a daily driven car especially with stock gearing. You dont really want to kill bottom and and rev to the moon to get power..IMO

Ha! This just goes to show how cam choice is all a matter of opinion. I was just sitting here thinking, "Man, that TR224 looks awesome."

Of course, I was also thinking that all three cams were very, very similar, which they are.

If thats what you're dead set on, go for it. However, after reading how you keep flip flopping throughout this thread, and what you started out wanting, that just seems a little smaller than the consensus you started with.

Good luck with it either way.

hmm, i feel a custom user title comming on: John Kerry

Predator_Z hit it on the head .

my personal vote is the tr224; it fits your goal, though you keep changing it, easy as pie to tune, undisputed excellent driveability not dependent on tune, great power band, no 4.10+ gears required, lobes are not super aggressive, ect.

if your concerned with the track then it really wont matter what cam your running; if your suspension, tire psi, driving skills, ect arent up to par you wont be fast anyway.

True, 224 is a guarunteed winner. I just think he's gonna end up pulling it a few months down the road wanting more power or a better time at the track.

jrp.....you want to hook it up or should i?

you really think two degree's is gonna make a noticable difference in a bolt on and go setup? i assume you'll be doing the install yourself.

With the f14 the peak power is at 6500 give or take if you get it on the 112+4. I'm an auto so I have based my research on that. It puts out great numbers and I have not heard of anyone blowing up their bottom end with this cam. It is streetable with a tune and is a great cam all around from what I've read. You have my vote for that one
