Low compression 6.0 bored .030 over. Scat forged rods, speedpro forged aluminum pistons, arp main studs, all new clevite bearings, new timing chain, and a bunch of other odds and ends. This is my first time, so ive been trying to do my reserch, and hopefully everything will work out in the end.

whats thermal coating the pistons help out? shortblock looks good....good luck on the numbers

Everything I have read says that by coating the pistons and chambers it reduces detonation by evening out the burn. All of the top engine guys I have talked to said it works!

I followed the instructions THAT CAME W/ THE BOLTS, (arp instructions), unfortunatelly I dont have a strech gauge.

everything is done, exept for the timing chain, turning over by hand I felt a noticeable bump that required some more torque to turn over, (gulp!) I expect the piston has a litle rock in its bore (only one piston BTW),
when I left the assembly for about two days then turning over required GREAT effort, I though I might bend a rod (by hand hahahahahaha!).
I used assembly grease liberaly in bearings, everything is oiled, cyls are wet...

I understand the thermal coating for the pistons but is the coating a lower friction surface than metal? Just wondering what are the benefits on the bearings?

BTW, nice, very nice...

The coating on the bearings helps to reduce friction as well as gives you a cushion if you lose oil pressure. A coated bearing will last longer than a uncoated bearing if you lose oil pressure. If you lose oil pressure or it drops the coated bearing won't spin as easy.
