Default M1 to AMSOIL. filter question

Hey guys my current oil setup is 6 quarts of mobil 1 5W30 and a pure one filter. with this setup i dont seem to burn much of any oil but i have piston slap and it is quite prominent at startup AND fully warmed (just quieter). so i went and picked up 12 quarts of AMSOIL 5W40 european oil today and plan on doing the oil change 2morrow. i hear amsoil is the best rated oil for protection and the 5W40 euro is a great weight to run in the LS1. also i have heard that this oil helps quiet down piston slap and the valvetrain. so heres the question....what filter should i run? thanks

and oh dont say the new nanofiber ones from amsoil bc they are on backorder

what about longer filters? what kinds and where to get.

I am going to switch oils too from M1. Which Amsoil is best for that ticking noise? Mine is there when it is warmed up too. I was thinking about 5W-40 euro. Is there anywhere you can go to find out how the oils are graded as far as thickness. M1 is thin. As soon as I started using it the noise started immediately. I think I am going to switch to the AC Delco filter to see what it does also. I have been considering using 10-40 Castrol Syn but is it really synthetic? The former owner had the car running quiet and he said he thinks that is what he used. The bobistheoilguy website didn't really lead me in any direction.
