Default what is lift???

When these head porters claim heads are good to .600 lift, is that how much pressure the springs can handle? I have some ported heads, but I've always been curious if I actually got any gain out of them, cuz replaced heads/cam at same time.

Sorry to be dumb, please provide link if you have one, searching now, but not finding anything for dummies. Thanks all.

Lift is the distance the valve will travel. That is determined by the height of the lobe on the cam and the rocker arm ratio.

You mentioned .600 lift. Thats .6 inches or six hundred thousandths of lift. If you have .600 lift using a 1.7 rocker then the cam itself would have .353 lift. The rocker amy multiplies the lift. The location of the hole that the pushrod sits in on the underside of teh rocker arm determines the ratio of the rocker arm. The closer towards the center of teh rocker the higher the ratio.

When someone told you your heads were good to .600 lift they were probably talking about the srpings being good up to .600 lift.

or more likely the heads have their maximum flow at .600 and flow tapers off after that

I bought www.felberracing.com big uglies. you can see my dyno graphs at www.cardomain.com/id/ozorowsky on page 5. I only made 389 rwhp and 337rwtq at ~6400rpm. I'm shifting at 6800 rpm. I'm trying to get around 380rwtq, and 425rwhp NA then throw 150 shot of nitrous. Any recommendations? I was thinking maybe swapping the cam. I'm running Comp Cams 230/234 591/598 on a 114lsa. Will this system shine when I throw the nitrous on? What will make my car really run, DEEP 11's, high 10's? My car is now a manual, was an auto through 3600 stall when I dynoed last.

How's it going Mike? (remember me )

Your running a cam good for 400hp though an M6 w/ all the bolt on's.

Regarding your heads. Did they give you flow sheets after? They should have. More than likely your heads are peaking at .600. Without seeing the #'s though we can't tell you anything.

If those heads are worth anything and your tune is on point you should easily see close to 420 in your now converted m6.

Your numbers do seem a little low though for a car w/ ported heads.

A stalled auto will easily eat up about 15% of the power to the ground over an M6. But, if you made 389 A4, then you are seeing over 400 now for sure.

If your looking to go fast, just keep practicing those launches. Your car could run mid 11's with a sub 1.7 60ft the way it sits.

If you want to scrape 10's a 50-75 shot will do yeah. If you can get that car hooking and you shift like nobodies business.

Im sorry Danno, maybe with a pic, but I don't remember you.

Money permitting I'm gonna get on dyno again soon. Only comforting note is that my dyno numbers were on a mustang dyno.

I never got flow numbers with heads. I will email felber right now. I have tried emailing in past, and he never did return them. Kinda aggravates me. I'm sure he's busy, but I emailed him months ago with no return. Will email again right now.

Also I have a baby boy on way, and when it gets here I will put 150 shot Nitrous on car. Hoping I can hit 10's then

You don't remember. I remember when you lived in MA and we hung out. I'm Brian's (silver z28) friend. Last time I saw you I was smashed at Jillian's in Boston.

Congrats on the new kid. Looks like the only bottle your gonna buy is going to have formula in it

Honestly you don't need that much juice unless your still cutting 1.9's.

I didn't know it was a Mustang dyno, you would be hitting your goals on a dyno jet.

ok I remember now. Haven't talked to Brian in a while. I remember we were hanging out in parking lot, was me, you garrett, brian. Good times. I miss gillians. I never saw your car, that's why I didn't recognize you. Hopefully I'll get some flow numbers from Mike at Felber Racing. But I need to Learn how to properly race the manual. I suck at racing it right now.
