i usually loosen the front coolant line on the driver side to let the air come out from there. Took about 10-15 minutes for my car to get rid of almost all the air after my head/cam swap..

Put it over your shoulder, give it a couple of whacks and make it beltch!! On a more serious note...try tapping lightly on the Thermostat housing to make sure the stat isnt stuck, also make sure the upper radiator hose is getting warm to the touch...if so the water pump is working o.k. after that make sure your radiator cap is sealing properly as not to let air in.

FWIW, when I changed my water pump, I unhooked the small coolant line on the driver side of the tb. With the cap off and car running, I filled as necessary until fluid came out of that small line. I figured this would be the best way to get rid of air since it is the highest point of the cooling system.
p.s. this also worked on my friends car after a cam swap.
