Default Head/Cam and Install?

What are most of you paying for New Head/Cam and install...which is most likly including a tune. I know that I need to talk to a local performance shop to get there advise with head/cam choices, but with what in my sig. If anyone has any suggestions I would like to hear what you would run. My goals are to some day make 450HP or tap into the 11's @ the track. I want it to be very streetable being that I will drive the car everyday at least 30 miles.

I am just wondering how much money I will need for this complete setup....and maybe what a few of you all think would be a good setup for my car...

According to your sig, you are ready for a good H/C setup. Only thing that you might want to consider is gearing or a bigger stall than stock. Without the driveline upgrades this is not going to be all that friendly to you with the majority of grinds available. You want to keep the gears? Get a cam that has really good low end support.
I am sure you will hear the AFR bit in this thread as well, and if money is not a factor....do it!
But you might want to consider the fact that you are pondering forced induction. The best thing to do is pick a route that you want to go and stick it out. It will save money and time in the long run.

A good setup is gonna be around $2,XXX. get ready to drop some cash! And that is saying that you install it yourself. Installed you are looking at 3 grand most likely. Your procharger would lay you down into the 11's if you have the suspension to carry you there, and it will definitley net you somewhere in the 500 rwhp range.

LS2 timing set will save you about $130. Are double springs available with the cost of the heads?

Yea as far as the the FI, I think it will be on hold solely for the $$$ flow right now...but Ive got about $3000 to work with right now and want to find something that will be good give me some good power but keeping it as reliable as a H/C can be for a daily driver. I dont want a setup that will baby the car and show little power, but I know there are guys that H/C on thier daily drivers and arent as radical as some of the cams can be.

I have debated on the Converter, but I dont think I will have the cash flow for it and a rear end to hold it together. Unless there are some that some of you guyes have tryed a lower stall range that the stock rear will be able to hold together.

I see that Exotic is running Patriot stage III in there H/C package...are these good heads for these cars and my setup possibly?

Im not totally new to the H/C setups but Im still not sure whats right for me...so keep any suggestions coming...

We sell and install quite a few sets of Patriot stage 2 and stage 3 heads. The stage 2 heads are what I recommend for most street cars, and the 2.08 valves in the stage 3 heads simply are overkill for most street applications. We have seen really good results with these heads, and the price is hard to beat. Bob

What would be a good cam choice for me with the Patriot Stage II's...Does anyone ever run any of Crane products?

Why do you need to recharge the ac after a cam swap? I've done two and not done one yet.

Im still trying to figure out what cam to run with the patriot LS6 Stage II heads also anyone else have any suggestions on cam choice/cam brand? Has anyone ran the patriot grinds?
