Default Help with Valve Adjustment

I decided to get adjustable rockers with my new cam set-up. I go through the 90 degree crank revolution routine and adjust all of the rockers and everything looks cool. Then I rotate the crank through another revolution, 90 degrees at a time to check everything out. A couple of rockers are loose to I tighten them up and do it again. Everytime I repeat this, a couple of more rockers have loosened up. What is happening? Are the lifters (stock) bleeding down with the spring preload? What should I do for the initial setting if this is normal?

The no fail way to set your valves is as follows:

When the exhaust starts to open set the intake. When the intake starts to close set the exhaust.

This will ensure that the lifter is on the base circle of the cam. Eighter set lash or preload at this time.

Do this for each cylinder.

This will work on any 4 stroke engine.

Don't the instructions say to wait between rotations and that it will take several cycles through the rotuine to get them adjusted?

No problem man. This is one of the most commonly asked questions. There is no mystery to setting lash once you know the correct sequence.

Good luck,
Bryan
