Default 438 In A 6.0L

Hi every 1

I am planning on a 438 Rotating Assembly kit to be used in a 6.0L iron block, but I am not sure if the 6.0L iron block can handle 4.125 bore or not.

- Did any of you tried it or heard about it?

Please let me know.

Chevy 438 LS1 Rotating Assembly kit - 4.100 Stroke - 6.125 Rod - 4.125" Bore.

your not going to get that size bore out of the iron block......your gonna have to shell out the money for a resleeved block if you want those cubes (or go c5-r)

search is your friend. this has been beat to death. 4.030 is standard. you can do 4.060 if you have the block thoroughly checked out.

This is true. If you can go .060 with your block, you will end up with 427 cu.in.

Even then, I wouldn't want to push that too hard on a daily driver. Maybe on a race block only......

Go with a resleeved for that kind of bore.

cyphur_traq,
Can I use 4.125 bore sleeves in a 5.7L aluminum block?

Question

Hi

Will a 4.040" overbore work w/o Sonic Check or other Tests?
Search turned out negative (To get the classical T/A 400 Cubes For Action with a short 3.9" Stroke)

(Bore/2)² x Pi x Stroke x Number of Zylinders will also work.
