Default Went with AFR 205's not 225's

For my application which is still stock cubes. Had the chambers done to 72cc, and installed dual comp 921's. I am looking to produce 1000flwhp at around 15psi. Let me know what you guy's think of my choice, and why? Don't be afraid to say, I should have gotten the 225's.

You should've gotten the 225cc heads. I have built a few stock cube FI cars with the larger AFR heads and there is no low RPM penalty, and they make power on the top end like crazy. Did you consult AFR before you purchased them. Usually they recommend the 225 heads to anyone with forced induction

Did you try 205's on these applications?

FI= 225's. You left alot of power on the table with the 205's.

FWIW, I am most concerned with area under the curve? However, are you saying these heads won't allow me to make 900rwhp with my setup? My 6.0l heads made 700rwhp and torque with 12psi? This was with my CAS kit. Also this car sees the street more than the track? These factors along with choking a stockl ci engine swayed me to the samller heads? I am also basing this on my experience with my LS2 intake, in which I lost serious torque and hp down low but gained minimal hp up top. I believe the LS2 has larger runners? I appreciate the replies. I would love to has a set of 225's to swap on my car just to see the difference.

I think the 205's will work just fine for you.Personally I would of got them in 66cc chambers and just run a deeper piston.

I don't believe you will achieve 900 rwhp out of a stock cubed bottom end. As for the heads, look at it as trying to force air through a straw. With 15 psi, you will no longer be pulling air into the cylinder, you will be forcing it in there. With forced induction, port volumes kinda become less important than with a N/A engine. You want to be able to move as much air in and out as efficentlly as possible, and in this instance a 225 under pressure would have moved a signifigant amount more air, with no loss in the low end. If you were going with nitrous, I would have said to stick with a 205 because it is still N/A most of the time, but when the boost is always on tap, I would have went for the larger head. BTW, the LS2 is just a crappy intake. I wouldn't make or base any theories off of how poorly it performed on your car.

I see your point and can understand if I were a supercharged car. Being turbo'd I only see full boost when I put the hammer down. If I get into it slowly I may see 5, 8, 10 depends how far my foot goes down. Most of the time this car will be on the street and I have a feeling it is going to be a torque monster. Are you saying the heads won't allow for 900rwhp or the fact I am a little 347?

I will take more boost to achieve your power numbers that is all, the more your heads flow the more power you will make at a certain boost level, you are definitely leaving some power on the table IMO.
