Default Took the plunge, TORQUER 2

Well,
I just ordered the Torquer 2 (232/234, 113 lsa+1)
For the Z.
As much as I love the Stealth 2, I need something with more power above 5K rpm for the track.

Setup will be:

FIPK
Stock MAF (ported ends)
80mm BBK (ported and polished by myself)
Modified LS6 intake
PRC stage 2.5, 5.3L (2.04/1.585), milled .010
GM .054 graphite gasket
Comp 850-16 lifters
J-WISS single chain
Stock rockers
Stock oil pump
MAC mids (primary and collector mod)
G2 ORY (modified to fit MACs)
3" piping into Magnaflow muff
FLP stage 4 A4
VIG 3200
TCI plate
3.73 10 bolt with TA girdle
Spohn TQ arm with 2 loops
BMR relocation brackets
Poly bushings (motor mounts, trans mount, sway bar (rear- front is off)
And of course a 5177 dry NOS (modified dual stage)
Some other stuff I can't think of....

Need to go mid to low 10's on juice.

Should be in within a week.

BTW, I was making 429 rwhp with the Stealth 2 on a 93 Octane tune (running 98 actually). TC locked.

I'm hoping for an additional 20rwhp, but really want more pull after 5K

The Stealth days of the Z are over

Cool, can't wait to see what it puts down and runs at the track. What's the elevation over there??

You will enjoy the lope with the new cam, and you are going to be getting all kinds of attention with it too, I get people all the time asking what it has, etc, "sounds mean as hell dude!", etc, etc

whats the lift on that cam?

Mines a 232/234 .595/.598, you will like it a lot if its close to mine. I'm still on stock heads, but it pulls hard to 6500.

I am running the TSP Torquer 1 cam (233\233 .595\.595 on a 112 LSA) and I really like it..from 4000 RPM on it pulls very very strong up to 6800 and doesn't act like it has run out of breath at that RPM..but on stock rod bolts I shift at 6500..the car has a great lope at idle and makes a bunch of power over 5000 RPM..It makes the numbers in my sig through the muffler on stock heads..getting ready to put a set of heads on it and it sould really pull much stronger then..you are going like it with the set up that you have..good luck with it.

I know you didn't ask me, but IMO, the low end was not affected at all from stock (I'm an A4 though with a 3500 stall so I'm used to sluggish). I personally didn't get much time with the cam since I killed my trans 3 hours after it was installed, but I can't wait to get back on the road with it. But it pulls HARD.

Pred...your going to love the Trqr2. I installed one on my buddies 02SS and the tuning was relatively quick, no longer then install time. It seems to react well without the split duration reversion of some smaller cams. Basically I did the VE reduction on lower rpm region, added timing at idle, flipped the TB Screw and cranked it out a little. Changed the AFR from stock rich to a little leaner at the WOT airflow as well. This cam sounds nice as hell at idle, and runs very well, even with a lil 3000 stall w/stock 3.23 gears.
FWIW, I posted the tune in Horists .bin repository, feel free to check it out.

GL and enjoy.

Thanks guys, I'm a little excited. Reason I chose that one is that it fits the PRC heads pretty well. Chose 113 +1 instead of 112 +2 for a little more idle vacuum since I have a modulated tranny..
it is 232/234, .595/.598 113 lsa+1

My tune is done with the help of Allen Nelson as I'm no genious in that section (learning slowly but surely). He is a heck of a guy to deal with.

Eventually i will need to get a 9" rear so I can run a bigger stall. I'm ammazed the 10 bolt is holding that well so far.
But we all know $$$ are not that easy to come by.

What will be nice to see is the differences between a good small Stealth and one bigger cam (similar to FM13 etc..).

Once you get it tuned in, I think you're going to wish you had gone bigger. You're going to like the additional pull up high though.

Stock short block? Curious why you'd use that thick head gasket also?

Circumstances.
When I got the heads (PRC 2.5) they were unmilled so I can run .045 Cometic.
But a nasty gash between water passage and bolt hole require .010 mill.
Knowing I will step up in cams soon and I do not want to flycut (and I like comfy PTV clearances ~ .08 int and .10 exht, I had to use the graphite (which was in hand at the time)
I live overseas so quick parts availability is nonexistant.

I do run Kateck rod bolts BTW. So far so good.

Oh yeah, track power is addictive, but bigger will come with future forged block.

Fly cut pistons? Also why not Comp 875 lifters? What type and length of pushrods do you plan on running?
