As far as cam goes, there are many different manufacturers. You might check sites like SDPC or Thunder Racing for some good profiles. You might be able to get a good deal on a used one on here, if it is a hyd. roller then it will not matter if it was used unlike a solid roller. Good way to save money as well.
I don't have a clearance problem on mine and the are milled .030

Make sure that if you do go fairly big or just mild for that matter that you upgrade your valvetrain to avoid unwanted problems/damage. I would suggest that you run dual springs with if you can afford them titanium retainers and some hardened pushrods. no need to replace rockers or lifters...they will get the job done.

Yeah if you can get a good port job on those heads it will be worth it IMO. If you were looking to up the CR you might look into getting them milled to achieve 11.1 or so. You will definitely want to look into getting an LS6 intake or if you can afford it the FAST. I am gonna be honest, the 90/90 setup with the intake TB combo seems to be the route that 90% of the folks I know are leaning towards if not already running.
wait...your an S10?
