I would pick the RJ-111 (236/239 .600/.611 111LSA ) from Futral. Those cams have shown pretty good numbers, and with 111 LSA i think that you will have a rough idle as you were requesting With that set of gears you will not have any problem by getting quicker on the power range, besides 111 LSA will also help you

LG G5X3 or G5X2

Either way, upgrade to a good dual spring like a Comp 921 or Patriot Gold.
Pick a cam in the 230+ duration range with .595-.610 lift and put it on a 110-113lsa and the thing is going to pull/lope/ put a smile on your face.

I would get better heads if the power is not what you want. You will gain alot that way, then you will really see the gains from that cam.

I would recommend talking to EDC more. He can set you up with exactly what you want for YOUR car and what your intentions for the car are. His cams make great power.

What are you more concerned about, lope, or power?

Sounds like he just cares about lope and not so much power. Regardless of what cam you choose you need to do the supporting mods to get the most out of it. Headers and an intake w/ported tb, crank pulley and a lid. I have the tr224, my numbers are in my sig. Your running a stock cubed 99 ls1? How heavy is your car? the 112 lsa would have been a better choice but if all you want is lope then you have a variety of choices. Headers w/dual exaust will make it sound lopier as well.

Something with 8*-10* overlap and mild lobes to help keep valvetrain alive. Figure a ~228* and ~232* on a 110*... Not a problem...

Does this mean you're running stock manifolds? That's one of the reasons why the 224 ain't doin' it for ya powerwise.
If you're going to build a header, is it going to be short/mid/long?

Makes a huge difference for your cam selection.
