12 bolt w/ posi and 3.73's
Put down
442 RWHP / 400 RWTQ on a Mustang Dyno (set up for DynoJet numbers)
I think that I will be able to come in around 460-470 with a new 9.5" converter and 90/90 set up.

The tranny is a Rock-On built 4l60e with a Yank PT4800 converter and the rear is a built 8.8 with a 4.30 gear.

Get your facts straight, the cam he's talking about is LS1Joe's. Joe's car made 460+ r.w.h.p. cam only, through a 12 bolt with 4:56's, and has run 10.23 Marketing scheme, yes he's got a 400 shot of gas on it.

From what I know about LS1Joe's setup, the heads have never been off the car. He is making killer power cam only, and running the times to back it up. I am willing to be that if it wasn't for that 9 inch, gears, and slicks, that his car would put down close to 500 cam only. Joe is also a helluva tuner!

i do believe that he is shifting north of 7,200, as well. killer numbers, but shifting over 7k on a factory shortblock with rod bolts or not is borrowed time. i would assume he is on thin ice with that tune, also. but isn't he still a couple hundred lbs heavier than the t-rex car? i'd like to see some results after more weight is found and eliminated.

Well yes I shift well north of 7,200 rpm but on borrowed time? My short block has well over 400 drag strip passes and I believe if you take care of it, there is no reason it will last. I have shead quite a few pounds and will be sheadding more this week. I ran a 10.37 on Saturday in Bowling Green at the NMCA race with 70lbs in the car for qualifying.
I am adding some goodies to my car that should pick up the numbers well above 20rwhp and will be sheadding all of the weight that I can.
My tune is very conservative and I would not hesitate to tune other cars just like mine. I could easily pickup another hp or two by going crazy but why. The car is consistant and runs the number.
Also I have a 9" and I made 463rwhp thru slicks, 4.71 gear and 90 degree weather.
Oh and by the way It is a 425 shot
Thanks,
LS1Joe
