Default 383 owners come in.......

Im really thinking about a 383 but I cant find many out there. All 383 guys chime in with your specs....

1. Heads?
2. Cam?
3. Intake
4. Exhaust
5. Pros compared to other setups?
6. Cons compared to other setups?
7. HP? Torque?
8. Pistons?
9. Rods?

Make this decision easy for me!

Mine was built by Lingenfelter.

1. AFR 205
2. TR224
3. stock LS6
4. SLP Long Tubes, w/high flow cats & GMMG
5. I wanted aluminum LS1 style block, just stroked
6. other setups (LS2) give bigger CID
7. hp=lots, torque=lots. you'll have to race me to find out :-)

see link below for web-page for details

Put mine together myself with the help of a bud. Callies Forged 383 11:1

1. Heads = Rapid LS1 2.02/1.57
2. Cam = Erson Custom 242/250 .595/.595 109
3. Intake = 90mm LSx
4. Exhaust = Kooks 1 7/8 LTs no cats SLP LM
5. Pros compared to other setups = makes great power with tame heads, streetable on 92 octane
6. Cons compared to other setups = Cam was for sound more than power (109 vs 113) and headers are a bit too big for a 383...11.5-12:1 is doable...would have 500rwhp with a little tweaking.
7. HP 480rwhp Torque 440rwtq (no elec water pump, vac pump, alum DS or flywheel)

My heads were old then (2003)...just shows you how good they were...I think with newer parts out today there is another 20-30rwhp. that is where the power is...dont skimp on the heads and valvetrain.

6000 miles and still running strong.
