CPS - Cam position sensor? Is it plugged in good?

where that located? Behind the manifold right?

I am pretty sure that it is. I was going to pull the manifold off and check all the plugs and **** back there. I got over it though cause I am sure I got everything plugged in back there.

I was thinking pushrod length too. Cause that can cause her not to start. 7.4 is good right?

7.4 worked fine for me. I can't see it being anything but the coils, you're getting everything but spark from the plugs, right?

yup
i have been tyrign to help him out
And he is getting plenty of fuel
When he checks at the shrader valve, it shoots up like 10ft, so fuel pressure is good. Also I too say it has to be the coils, we just cant seem to find anything unplugged or anything

If you have time, maybe try pulling off the coils another fbody and pop them on. It's a little bit more work but hey, if it fires up, you know where the problem is, but if not, you can tell its something else.

also look at the ground strap that is below the driver side motor mount, grounds can cause weird problems like this

Thanks for the help again guys. I am going back out there today and hopefully get her going...be a good little present for myself

Is it possible that the cam is just to large?
Some say that it may not even start w/ a large cam like the ms3 and others say it should start no problem.

The only problem the cam would cause by being too big would be if it hit a valve when you cranked it with disconnected coilpacks. That's the only problem I've heard of being caused by a cam being too big. But with your setup, you shouldn't have clearence issues.

Thats what I was thinking as well.

I am pulling the plugs right now also, I am going to gap them at .050. Then **** around with the coil pack some more.

lol not yet man.

Took the plugs out and gapped them at .050. Also replaced the stock injectors with 30# SVO's. Put the stock plugs back in as well...no fire.

I know for sure now that it is not firing at all. I checked as someone cranked.

So something has to be unplugged I would think, but I know I plugged everything in behind the manifold and I checked all the fuses and looked over the engine for hours now.

Coil packs have to be good too, dont know why they would just crap out on me.

i'm sorry to hear your bad luck.fortunately i just done a head-fast 90/90 install and other than a broken coolant block-off plate bolt it went fairly well.hang in there !what sucks is something that is probably so simple to fix is being so hard to pin-point.keep us posted.

Have you tried charging the battery just to be sure? Checked all the fuses? I doubt all your coil packs went bad at the same time.

Yeah thats what I was thinking....

The battery went out on me as I was cranking. Charged it back up though, seems to be holding the charge good as well.

Wheres that cam positioning sensor located?

Pretty sure it is under the intake. Not sure though, never had the intake off on one of these cars.
Even if though the cam is on the big side, the car should still fire. It may not want to stay running, but it should still fire.

Man, I feel for you. I just finished installing my heads tonight... I was sweating bricks when I went to start it up. It fired up just fine (and no codes). I wish I could help, but anyway, here's a picture showing the cam sensor location:

Yeah I am with ya on that one.

Well now I know with 100% certainty there is no spark.

So something is unplugged...but I really dont know what it could be. I checked over everything for hours. The only thing I have not done was take the intake manifold off and check those plugs out. I know though that I plugged everything in...but who knows.

I deleted AIR as well...could I of pulled something off that should of stayed? I doubt it though.

Fuel could of gotton in the main wiring harness off of the coil packs...could that cause it to fail?

spark plugs are perfect, plug wires are perfect.
