Default 99-02 ls1 heads fit a 98 ls1

will any ls1 base heads fit on a 98 camaro ? if not what will i have to do to make them fit ?

yes...just need center bolt valve covers for the 99+ heads

You also need to get head gaskets made for a 99-02 ls1. You will also need to do something about your coil packs. Either get a bracket to mount them on the center bolt covers (if they don't come with one) or you need to relocate them somewhere. Thunder sells relocation brackets.

let me see if i got this right.... i can use 99-02 heads as long as i use my 98 valve covers ?

No you need differnet valve covers. Center bolt vs. perimeter bolt heads.

I also think you will need to relocate your coil packs.

go to a junkyard and get 99+ valvecover assys..that have 99+ coil brackets on...just like your 98 has.
