Default octane rating

Not sure if this is where to post or not. I was just wondering what octane rating you guys run. Or i guess how high of octane is safe to run in our cars. I always run at least 93 but and thinking of gettin some 104 or 110 for track days. Wanted to check with you guys to see if it was safe and what you guys all run. Thanks

As little as possible. Only run as much as your car needs. The higher the octane the slower the fuel burns to resist detonation.

If the race gas is leaded it will probably mess up your O2 sensors. It happened to me when I used 110 but after a couple tanks of 93 they were good to go.

Mix some 104 for track days, but running pure 104 unless you're 12.5 CR and above will have an adverse effect. 1>3 mix is good. 1part 104 to 3 part 93.

I run 91. Using a higher octane then what is needed will not benefit you. Like FASTLS1 said run the lowest possible. When your motor is running close to detonation it will run most efficiently because most of the fuel is being burned at right point, and using a higher octane will not allow this to happen because your motor is not running hot enough to burn the higher octane gas where it is needed to burn.

Use only the fuel that your motor is tuned for. The only way your going to get added power from higher octane gas is to have a diffrent tune for the higher octane gas. Otherwise you motor makes peak HP on the brink of detonation. Which means, only run the fuel that you need.

I've run mine on the street with 13.5 to 1 on 93! At the track I would run 108.
