The intake flow numbers between both heads are very close, even with the LS6 Stage 1 heads using stock valves. The LS6's can also be had in a similiar package as the PRC 5.3L as far as valve and spring options, but would do even better with big valves. I like mine as I don't have to flycut the pistons using a larger camshaft, while I would be cutting it close with a 2.04" valve with my cam.

The compression between the LS6 heads and PRC 5.3L heads is marginal, LS6 would be 10.5 to 1 unmilled, while 5.3L would be between 10.6 - 10.7 to 1. With either head, you will need 99+ valve covers and coil pack brackets since you have a 98 F-body. One other thing we could do is mill the LS6's for a little more compression if desired.
Thanks for the detailed response! My current heads are ported 241's so I already have the valve covers and brackets. I think I've made up my mind....i'll be calling you guys shortly.

From my experience, a smaller size runner will be better. TSP carries DART $ 1399.00 as cast and those would be perrrfect for a cam at or below 220 DUR on intake.
62 cc chamber as well, no milling needed.

What cylinder head options are available for us '98 folks with perimeter bolt valve covers?

I would just convert to center bolt's if I was you. I did, and it makes things so much easier.

Not trying to hi-jack or nitpick but how much difference and in what areas do you feel the Dart's would be an improvement over the LS6's? As you know I'm planning to run the same cam as Redneck Z but I planned on doing it with LS6 Z06 heads that have been cleaned and polished.
