i have a bone stock car. it's a 98Z SSM M6 T Tops. the only mod is a cut out on the stock exhaust. and my various stereo ****. but nothing motor wise. etc. hell, i still have a stock lid. hahahaha. But i'm keeping it. I mean, you can use it for your mods, but can i keep everything?
oh, and i'm pushing 175K.. so maybe that'll answer a ton of questions about how well the ls1's hold up.

Has anyone talked to the sponcers yet to see if they'll donate, sell cheap or even lone parts or dyno/tune time??
I know there's lots of sponcers here and have good deals, but to have your company name on build up with results showing gains and a nice link to buy the parts for every member here so they too can build the same motor... I meen.. why not?!
Hell.. buy some parts from the classified section

Someone wrote that certain mods complament eachother, and that a complete buildup could not be done accurately. That's not entirely true. I think the best way to go about it would be to start with the cheapest upgrades, and work your way up to the most expensive, like most people would. I have a 2000 ws6 ta which is completely stock except for a programmer and 160 thermostat. Bring on the build!

i think its a great idea for people just starting to mod their car to see what mods they want to do first compared to price. This would allow them to visit one thread or sticky instead of searching everywhere for bits and pieces

I had this issue http://www.samracing.com/99chevycamarossarticles.html where they built a LS1 on a factory shortblock running 10s in the quarter. Great Issue if you could find a copy (ebay?)
Don't even have a LS1 , Im still stuck on the past with the LT1, but lotsa good info.

To be honest, I let this thread simmer for a while, to see how many folks responded.
I'm personally thinking it would be interesting to take a average 4th gen car, and baseline it after a tuneup, and then start bolting on parts, eventually taking the car down to a 10.9 with the stock bottom end. Then spray a 250 shot for a 9 second pass, or turbocharge it (I'd rather turbocharge it).

YES sir
I would be interested in this. I see alot of guys are yapping about which is best etc. but you know damn right well if one product is better than another you would want the "better" one too. Hell yea I want to know which is "best" for my money and what I want to accomplish with my car.
