Default Oil pressure sending unit thread size???

I want to put a "T" on the factory oil pressure sending unit so that I can connect a mechanical pressure gauge but cannot determine the thread size. I pulled the sender (top of the motor, behind the intake manifold) and ran up to Home Depot thinking I could get some brass fittings and be on my way - NOT! I determined it is not SAE flare, compression or pipe, could it be metric or AN? It looks like a pretty coarse thread. I will make an adapter on my lathe if that is my last resort, either way I will still need to know what the thread is so that I can duplicate it.

Thanks in advance!

16X1.5, if I recall correctly.

Autometer makes an adapter to go from 16X1.5 to 1/8 NPT. Part #2268

I found a metric plug from an import shop and just drilled and tapped it.
