Quick Head Questions
The other question is about the valve size. I bought the 2.02"/1.575" Manley valves for my stock sized LS1 that'll be going in my truck. The heads are gonna get the stage 2 headwork/valve job from Patriot Performance. Are these valves too big for a daily driver? Should I send them back and get some stock sized 2.00"/1.55" valves?
Well, been spraying it with WD-40 for about 45 minutes. I've been scrubbing it with cloth wet with WD-40 after letting it sit for about 15 minutes. Would lightly scrapping it with steel wool be stupid?
Patriot is gonna do my headwork, can they get rid of it when they do the valve job?
Lapping: There is a compound that you can get at any autoparts place that comes in a rough and soft tube with suction cups on a stick basically. they stick on your valves and you rub the compound where the valve sits and it will slowly grind it down to where the valve is mated to the head and makes a better seal. That was the shortest way of explaining it i could do.
