15k.

I'm going to blame this on hitting my rev limiter a month and a half ago. I think it just got worse. I dyno tuned tuesday and broke my tranny lol. Took the car to the tranny shop. When I went to pick it up from them I started it and that is when the car started making a nasty sound Time to upgrade

What do you guys think about the 234/240 cam? I'm still asking my buddy what the lsa is and everything. It's a custom comp cam grind.

Looks pretty bad, but I have had worse myself. Also with an f-13 cam. I though mine was from the newer non-encapsulated lifters being weaker, but looks like you had the stronger encapsulated type and it still happened. Never had the cam bolts loosen or anything did you?

I reused my cam with new lifters and so far so good. Another 6K on the motor since I replaced the lifters.

Those are pretty chewed up looking. What did the cam lobes look like?

You are floating your valves, that it what caused that damage. Better check you spring loads.

Getting new springs on it as well as lifters....

You actually reused your cam after that? Wow. I think i'm going to just order another grind from Futral. Is my cam worth any money or not?

WHY DID I HAVE TO OPEN MY BIG MOUTH!!!!

Mere hours after saying I havnt had any problems, i started hearing the tell take sounds of a lifter plinking around. The exact same sounds I heard when the last batch came out. Trouble is, I dont know if its one of the 4 replaced lifters or another of the stockers that finally came undone. I was hoping to have my ported heads finished before I replaced the lifters, but I might have to rush things along now. I think ill order a new cam now just to be safe.

What is your rev limiter set at? Hitting the limiter shouldn't cause any problems unless it is set so high that you are experiencing valve float befor you hit it.

You give the impression the F13 cam caused your lifter damage. However, based on the messages in this thread it appears there may be other potential issues that could have led to the lifter damage. What was your final determination regarding the cause of your lifter problems?

Not sure yet. I'll have the springs tested soon. I just pulled the whole motor.
