Default Milled GMPP head combo..

I've decided to keep my wife's WS6 so I'm going to "remod" it. I had some ported 241's and a mild cam in it before.. but sold all that stuff. I'm going to stick some extra parts I have around on it and see how it turns out. The only thing I'm concerned about is P/V clearance with the milled GMPP LS6 heads. Below is the combo..

GMPP true LS6 heads with Z06 valves and PRC Dual spring kit.. Milled .055
GM MLS gaskets
Comp 220/222 .581/.581 116lsa 115icl cam
Comp 7.35 pushrods
Pacesetter longtubes/offroad Ypipe into hooker catback
LS6 intake, ported TB, TSP lid
Powerbond underdrive pulley
TCI SSF3500 stall
Stock 10 bolt with 3.42's out of a 6 speed car

I want this thing to drive damn near stock. This is "her" car and she bitched alot with the last cam I had in there.. so I took it back to stock. I'm sure the little comp cam will give me a good idle and nice street manners. I'm just worried about the P/V clearance. I don't want to tear into this thing and have to flycut her pistons. Anybody want to venture a guess on my P/V concerns?

I'm going to go ahead and try the swap next weekend. I'll measure the stock P/V clearance and then measure it with the little cam and .055 milled heads.

Its gonna be pretty tight, I just put 0.060" milled heads on with TR224 cam 0.563 lift and only had 0.050 clearence on inlet side , plenty on exhaust side.
Ended up retarding cam timing 4deg and that streached cleareance out to 0.073 .

Just measure it up - you may need thicker head gaskets or a little tweeking with cam timing.

I'd be more worried about the intake lining up.The Cam will be tight depending on the lobe rate grind.

It is an X-er cam. I can do some "slotting" if the intake acts like it won't line up. I've ran a set of these .055 milled heads with a Z06 cam on another car and the intake didn't have any trouble.

GOMER let us know how you came out. I have the same heads also and went
with Hotcam and 1.8rr's. I was concerned with P/V clearances when I did this
and didn't know as much about LS engines then. I'm thinking about a bigger cam so interested about the clearances.

Last fall I got the same heads on an 02 LS1, Comp 224-228, 538 lift on a 112 LSA. Car already had Stainlessworks LT's with cats, LS-6 intake, stock TB (unported) and SLP pulley. Made 400 RWHP and about 370 RWTQ on a Mustang dyno.

On street tires and no suspension mods went 12.80 @ 115.55.

Let us no how it works as I'm thinking about the Comp 228 - 230, 575 lift on a 112. If it would fit, would I get much benefit?

I'm doing all of it this coming weekend of the 18th.. along with a Racetronix PnP fuel system, SVO 42lb injectors, and a dry nitrous kit. If the P/V issues work out ok.. I'll have numbers by that next Monday.
