These are almost exactly my cam specs, and I am considering an AFR 205 setup as well. Did you actually look inside the chamber and see the clearance for yourself, or did you just crank it over and hope for the best?

I think a lot of guys with big cams posting in this thread need to realize that even though the cam fits, valve float or an over rev and their engine is toast.

Hi greg_nate -

LG put the cam in and tuned it...so it wasn't a "hope for the best"....well - hopefully

This is the PERFECT thread. I am looking into a heads/cam setup VERY soon. I am going with AFR 205s milled and whatever gasket to achieve approxiamately 11-1 CR. I originally wanted to run a 232/234 on 112, but was going to have to flycut, then I thought I could get by with a 228/230 112 WITHOUT flycutting. Now it looks like even THAT will be too tight for comfort. Guess I will have to go with the flycutting, cause I don't want to run ANY smaller than a 228/230 112.

I don't want to give up compression for duration, and I WON'T give up duration for compression.

Damn why does everything have to be so complicated

Well, i'll be running the new lsk lobe, so i've been looking for threads on ptv. I'm hoping i won't have to flycut the heads, but if i have to i guess it's not to much of a problem. What do you guys think..

TSP LS6 Heads (Stock 62cc) with just a cleaning pass of .003 (i believe)
Stock Valve size
.045 cometic gaskets
custom 227/232 .640/.595 110(+1) [LSK on intake, XER on Exhaust)

Think she'll fit??

I am running a G5X2 @ 112 LSA with AFR Heads 61 cc. I am running a .045 cosmetic gasket. Lou G at LG put my package together. I did not have to flycut.

If you go with the G5X3 @ 112, you will have to flycut. As I did not want to do that, I choose the slightly smaller G5X2 cam. With Tony Mamo's ported FAST 90 Intake and NW TB, I put down 472.8 and 422.6 (SAE) with perfect street manners (13:1 AFR). In race trim it is a lot more (Leaning it out).

Just want to Thank Lou and Bobby at LG Motorsports and Tony Mamo for all of their expertise.

I know a lot of people like to stay between 10.9-11.2.
I ran 224/230 xer 114+2 with 11.5:1 in 2 cars for years. No problem 8.7 dcr with that cam.

What LSA was your cam ground on? Installed straight up?

It's interesting to note that I've seen LG state their G5X3 (234-242, 112+4) will clear with .040 Cometics on AFR 205's milled to 59cc.

Quick Reply: What cams are you guys running with .030 milled AFR 205s and uncut pistons?
