Tighening it more will not compress the solid metal. However its more likely that yours are under torqued, which does nothing by leave your rockers loose and wobbling. Find a new shop, and make sure that comp know youre talking about NON adjustable rockers.
Easy on the guy... Maybe his "zero lash +1/2 turn" was achieved by changing pushrod length. Meaning 1/2 turn to 22ft/lbs. That is setting preload. Also you can change preload and wipe by shimming the pedestal.

My bad guys... Was angry with the shop, not you defaultexistance, as this is not the first time ive heard shops assuming you can set preload via how far you torque the rocker bolts. And yes i did make the incorrect assumptions that this is what you were referring to. Didnt mean to come off that harsh, but misinformed shops **** me right off especially when their negligence repeatedly tears up parts. Unfortunately I didnt read enough to see that this was not necessarily the case here. Sorry for starting a shitstorm.

The ones that failed originally, did you replace them one by one or replace all of them? If one by one, did any of the new ones fail after replacing them or did the others continue to fail?

I to have been running the Comp 850 replacements with my trex cam and up to 7400 RPM on them, no issues here and your the first I've seen so far and hope the last that seen these failures. Did you send Comp the failed ones? What did they think was the cause?
