If you want more power, you'll need more air.
I'd go bigger on the duration. Keep the valves open a lil' longer to draw in more air. Something in the mid to high 230 range on a 112 LSA +2

Don't worry about the lift. Under .600 is fine.

Get something in the mid to high 230's with ~.600 lift.

consider his aftermarket heads...will he need to flycut? more important: does he want to? if they haven't been milled i'd suggest a g5x3 on 114..

With duration in the 230's and lift under .600 he shouldn't need to flycut. Unless his heads have been milled .20- then he'll just order a cam with 590ish lift tops and it's done.

A cam big enough to *maybe* need to flycut is really no more powerful than a slightly smaller cam w/o cutting.

With a built 347, maybe he has valve reliefs

Are you looking for more mph or to get down the track quicker? Valve timing for top end speed may not be the same as getting that A4 accross the 1320 the quickest. For example here are 2 cams with 10* overlap that will accomplish difference goals:

ET: 228/232 110 109
MPH: 232/236 112 111

well my 347 has valve reliefs on the pistons. I don't think i need to flycut my piston's.My car ran a best of 11.49@119mph with 1.62 60'ft with a 3555 raceweight with driver. I need more top-end after the 1/8 mile my car seems to stop pulling after 1/8

you run 119 mph so that is pretty good for that cam. With 3.73s and a Vig 3600 you want to get into the 1.5X 60' range. Looks like you have decent traction so I would focus more on the 1/8 mile. Its mostly FI cars that can gain enough after the 1/8 to really make a difference.

I've got a Lunati 236/236 .580,.580 -112 LSA on a 108 centerline.

I'm very happy and wouldn't go smaller than this, or too much bigger. My Firehawk is a weekend car too, so it has to act right around slow town traffic.

If you're gong to the track take off your ac belt. That compressor pulley is really heavy and you'll gain 5 hp not having to spin up that dead weight.

in my opinion, the ms3 is a good street cam and the t-rex is a good track cam. the x3 is in between, as it provides good street manners and still pulls hard at the top of the band..

the t-rex is a bad mfer, i wouldn't mess with that unless you want to restall and change over to longtubes..
