does anyone know how much extra pressure you get out of adding a shim like this ???

What's your oil pressure like now? If you're still running a 98 pump, you should just replace the pump.

I stacked up a couple or small aluminum washers from the local hardware store.

Ditto on reaplcing the 98 pump if its still the stocker.

I thought the shims were only to clearance the Double roller timming chains? that is what I did with mine.

you i have a new ported ls6 pump i'm putting on even though my pressure was good with the stocker...

davered00ss the shims i'm talking about go under the pressure relieve spring to give you more pressure

How much oil pressure do ya want?? The ported LS6 pump should give ya plenty of oil pressure....

Don't you guys think?

Shims wont change the low end pressure, it just increases the bypass pressure for more at the top end.

Exactly. It is just like a relief valve in a hydraulic system.

I just got a LS6 pump from GM, did a little porting, but did not shim it. I get about 65-70 psi around 6600 rpm. A general rule is 10 psi for every 1000 rpm you turn.
