Default putter, smoke, gas from intake manifold !!help!!

i just installed the patriot ls6 stage 2 heads the 226/226 .585/.585 112lsa cam and 1.8 roller rockers on my car. when i went to start the car i heard a putter/ping sound out my intake and exhaust then it back fired out my intake and started to smoke.....i think it might be 1 of three things maybe bad cam positioning sensor or crank sensor. or something to do with the cam????timing??
any ideas are helpful thanks

1.8 rockers are alot for that cam. Did you turn it over by hand & check piston to valve clearance?

i took my lifters out and cleaned them..a friend said you have to prim them or you might get what happen to me because if no oil in lifters i think he said both valves will stay open....anyone think this could be the case?

Its not the lifters the valves just wont open fully until they are pumped up....BUT with a .585 lift with 1.7s cam AND 1.8 rollers rockers you just increased your valve lift MAYBE too much. My guess is you bent several valves. Pull the valve covers and rockers and see if all the valve and spring tops are all the way up and even. If a few are down slightly, you bent valves...Did you line up the dots and spin the car over by hand after installing the rockers and pushrods??? You should also have checked P/V before fully installing the heads. Personally, Im about certain you bent several valves....

1.85 rockers ADD .015 to valve lift over the stock 1.7 stock rockers. So now you have a .585 plus .015 = .600 lift

ok found out the problem...i guess the cam wasnt dot to dot cause my timing was off by like 45 degrees. i could kick myself. all valves are fine and the roller rockers are fine for this set up as well. bad news though when i put my new stall on i busted a pump in the front of my tranny so now the car is out till the tranny is fix.. thanks everyone for the input though..
