Lucky you huh!
Guess to any doubters your post has now proven 'IT IS THE CAM'

Hey Jon its Dan, Alex's buddy good to hear you got the cam back in and all is well. I was actually at Dan's shop getting my tune touched up yesterday when you called. I'm anxious to see if alex's in his 6.0 is going to whine so we'll see soon lol

Hey Dan! I appreciate that man, heard a lot about you and the car. Alex said you and I put down similar numbers on Dan's dyno considering our mods so that made me feel better about his stingy dyno haha. Here's hoping Alex's doesn't whine... Dang thing has been apart for longer than it was together lol.

Excellent news. I bet you're happy as hell to not have that annoying sound anymore.

Your cam was brand new and not just repolished?

Yessir, brand new from comp, sent me a return shipping label with the new cam so I didn't even have to cover return shipping! Only downside was the money in gaskets/fluids and my time. Oh, and my dumb *** managed to break one of my a/c hard lines.

Ya man I made 380 on his dyno my only has 3 degrees overlap but I do have 243 heads. I watched another guy in a cam only z28 make 360 and a cam only c5 z06 make 370 so ya his dyno is def stingy. Mine drives great though I know hell get your ac issue worked out he spent 3 hours tweaking my car yest till we had it perfect, it was being quite the bitch lol.

I was supposed to help Alex on Sunday but got tied up with things but hopefully it will drive this week!

Just spoke to greg, my cam will be here tomorrow and I will throw it in Friday most likely.

He said everything was well within specs so we shall see if just the polishing did the job.

Roads cleared up today, I took the vette to work. I still haven't tuned the car yet, but it's probably pretty close.

Got on it a bit and it has freaking loads of torque. I guess from filling the cylinder 5 degrees btdc and then closing the intake valve fairly early at 41 atdc. I'm glad I advanced the cam when I installed it.

I can't imagine how torquey it will be with headers.

Up date on a cam that was whining. We received a cam yesterday for inspection and polish. I was wrong about the fine CHATTER it was not fine it was very visible to the eye. Very fine Chatter can still cause whining. It still hard to see if you do not know what you are looking for. The light has to be good.On this cam you could feel it and see it with no problem. After a polish job it looked good to go with out any problems. We shall see.

It’s not necessary to polish cam lobes after grinding if there is no chatter. However it should be done. This well fix the problem.

Just went and picked it up.

GOOD NEWS!! No whine at all when i ran it for about a minute.

I have to get the water pump, crank pulley, radiator and a coil/plug wire issue Im having solved so I can run it more and put it through its paces before i say its fixed 100%.

Which hopefully should be tomorrow night. Ill post an "after" video as well.
