I spun a bearing on my 2000 Trans am.
Can I bore out my stock block? (90,000 miles) Provided of course that the block isn't damaged...
If I can, How far, and what pistons should I use for a strong nitrous ready rebuild?

I am doing a stock cubed rebuild. I just figure I might as well throw some forged pistons in there to be on the safe side for a nice bottle shot. I am probably going to do a stock crank and rods though. What size n2o shot will this lower end set up support.

Agreed, the stock crank should be just fine but I'd replace everything that Ferocity said. Might as well do it right now and not have to worry about something little going wrong and damaging the whole motor.

On the earlier blocks, all you can do is a 3.905. on the 01-newer blocks, you can go as much as 3.918, from what the machine shop doing my block told me. he had a GM book on the Gen 3 motors that said you can do a .020 bore on the newer blocks. my new pistons are 3.908 and my bore will be about 3.910 i believe.

Personally, I think the stock rods would be ok for what you are doing. Just upgrade the rod bolts. Some ARP bolts run $125 or so, a lot cheaper than a set of rods. The stock rods are good for up to 550rwhp. I would start to worry at 500rwhp. To reach 500 rwhp you'd need a lot of spray, FI or a full bolt-on h/c car. I'm sure there are exceptions, but basically that's about it. These guys that say "buy callies, buy lunati, buy this buy that" must have a hell of alot more money than I do. I have forged rods in my 408 but I have stock in my 347 with arp bolts. Around 20-25k miles on them, with an occasional 150 shot. Believe me, you're fine. Save that $600 and buy yourself a cam and some valve springs. You'll like that much better.

I've seen where a few people have tested the stock crank to 1000 hp and it held so the crank wouldn't bother me much. How much boost are you planning on running with your setup? Turbo or Supercharger?
